What’s happening at Tutu’s House?

from 8 to 9 a.m. every Monday with Janet Lam. Start your week with a smile — feeling balanced, flexible and strong. Although not specifically a beginner’s class, the movement sequence can easily accommodate students new to yoga or returning to a yoga practice.

TUTU’S QUILTERS from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Monday with Kathy Lukens, for beginners and experienced; learn quilting Hawaiian style while meeting a great group of people; initial supplies are provided or bring something you are working on. Good company and encouragement guaranteed.

FIT~4~FUN for Women

from 8 to 9 a.m. every Tuesday and Friday (except Dec. 24, 27 and 31), with Kathy Cazimero, fitness enthusiast; this low impact cardio/strength workout includes stretching, leg exercises and weight training. Bring your own weights to work on arms, shoulders, legs and overall body balance. Athletic shoes, a towel and comfortable clothes required.


from 9:30 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday with Aunty Marjie Spencer; join other experienced players of all ages to learn more about the ukulele through friendship and song. Bring your own ukulele and three-ring binder for music.


from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Tuesday If you like to write in the dark of night by candlelight, sculpting emotional transgressions into artistic expressions, then this group is for you! We have new writers to published authors—many genres: fiction, non-fiction, essays and poetry. It is a supportive, encouraging place to share one’s writing.


from 12:30 to 3 p.m. every Tuesday (except Dec. 24, and 31), with Gretchen Geisler, lifetime knitter; for ages 10 to adult, and all skill levels. Bring your projects, get your knitting questions answered, and visit with other knitters. Beginners will be guided into a suitable project.


from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. every Thursday (except Dec. 26). From arthritis to asthma, back pain to cancer, or just basic stress, yoga supports healing on all levels of being. Using positions of the body and breathing to promote health and well-being, this guided practice offers an opportunity to stretch, strengthen and align your body. Turn on your body’s healing powers, while supporting flexibility, attitude, stress level and overall circulation.


from 1 to 4 p.m. every Friday, with Annabel Spielman. Word lovers of every age and skill level are encouraged to play this classic (yoga for the brain) game with relaxed rules It’s a great way to retain and expand vocabulary, spelling, memory and observation skills in a congenial atmosphere.

C.O.R.E. Musical Exploration

from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, with Richard Adoradio Music mentor and performing singer-songwriter from San Jose, Calif. A fun and unpredictable playshop where participants intuitively create musical soundscapes. Artistic expression is unleashed in the expansive environment of listening and oneness. All are encouraged to bring their favorite instrument along with an open mind and heart. While no musical experience is required and participation is voluntary, listening is essential.
