Donations to public charter school don’t happen often. But last week, Waimea realtors with Windermere C&H Properties gave $5,000 to Waimea Middle School to support faculty and staff in improving student learning and achievement.

John Balaam, who is both a WMS parent and a Windermere C&H Properties realtor, said that Windermere Real Estate is very committed to the local communities it serves, so they created a special foundation just to help them.

A portion of the commission on every Windermere realty transaction is contributed to the foundation, and at the end of each year, the foundation distributes the money they have received to all of their offices with the stipulation that the money must be donated to a local children’s organization of their choice.

At Balaam suggestion, Windermere’s Waimea office team agreed to give all of their funds this year to WMS to recognize the school-community’s dedicated hard work to raise the academic bar for its students and provide a safe, healthy, fun educational experience.
