On Jan. 18, the Waimea Elementary School robotics team, the Bronco Bots, competed in a robotics competition on Oahu. As part of the program, the team had to had to write an essay about how math is used in robotics, and they had to interview experts about how to improve their robot. At the competition they gave an oral presentation of their information to the judges and competed against other schools. First-time competitors, they finished in 22nd place, but their goal was to “have fun and learn robotics.”
