Kindergartners and first graders at Hawaii Preparatory Academy will present “American Symbols!” at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7. The musical performance, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Gates Performing Arts Center on the school’s Upper Campus.
“American Symbols!” is presented in conjunction with the students’ social studies curriculum. HPA’s Lower School music teacher Georgia Polakova directs.
“American Symbols!” is a fun, patriotic show that explores the origin, nature, and significance of many of Americaʻs national symbols, documents, songs, and landmarks, including the American flag, apple pie, the bald eagle, Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” The White House, and the memorials to important individuals and events in the countryʻs history
