On May 5, Kohala Elementary School students will have the rare opportunity of meeting an opera performer from the Hawaii Opera Theatre in Honolulu.

The performer will visit the school before entertaining about 400 area students during a Hawaii Opera Theatre youth performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Mikado” for school audiences at 9:30 a.m. at Kahilu Theatre that day. Sponsored by the North Kohala Student Cultural Program, Kohala Elementary School fifth graders will be among the attendees who will experience the event.

The Hawaii Opera Theatre will also perform a Gala Concert on Sunday, May 4, at Kahilu Theatre. To purchase tickets for the Sunday performance, visit the Kahilu Theatre website at kahilutheatre.org/Showinfo/Hawaii-Opera-Theatre-Gala.
