Walking meditation in June 1

Gavin Harrison will offer a Walking Meditation in the Wild, 8:30-10 a.m., June 1, at ‘Iole, the Historic Bond Homestead, 53-496 ‘Iole Rd., Kapaau. Experience the beauty of the land on these silent hikes, ongoing, the first Saturday of each month, rain or shine (unless weather particularly inclement). The morning begins with a few minutes of silent meditation

followed by a brief introduction to mindfulness and silent walking meditation. Different route each month, and not strenuous. The meditation concludes with a few minutes of silence together followed by refreshments.

Bring a hat, hiking shoes or boots, sunscreen, bottled water, a towel or cushion for rest stops in nature, rain gear, mosquito repellent and small hiking backpack if desired. No charge, but donations help make the program possible. Suggested donation is $10-$15.
