All are invited to participate in a 4.5 km fun run/walk on Father’s Day, June 16, to benefit the Waimea Preservation Association. Advance Registration is from 3-5 p.m., Friday, June 14, or from 7-7:45 a.m., Sunday. Run-Walk starts at 8 a.m. at WPA’s historic Waimea Tax Office at the corner of the main intersection across from Bank of Hawaii, then south on Lindsey Road, east behind Parker Ranch Center, south on Pukalani Road to the end of Ala ‘Ohia (Parker Ranch connector road) and back. The event will conclude with breakfast refreshments, finishing prizes and door prizes. Cost is $20 for adults, $15 for youth 12-18, and free for keiki under 12. Photo exhibits planned of Waimea’s historic sites along the route including the old slaughterhouse, Pukalani Stables, Pu’u Hihale cattle enclosure and Paniolo Park.
