The Waimea Consort will perform a concert entitled “Sounds of the Senses” at 6:30 p.m. on May 24, at the newly remodeled Tiki Barn (behind the Kohala Village Inn). The Waimea concert is the next day at 4 p.m., May 25th, at HPA’s Davies Memorial Chapel. Both concerts are free to the public.
The group will be singing a wide range of a cappella works spanning many centuries. This special selection of music depicts various sights, sounds, and feelings — the senses portrayed in song via sound. Some of featured composers of this concert are: Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Tomás Luis de Victoria, Bob Chilcott, and Morten Lauridsen. Call Pat Perez for more information at 238-5978.
