WCT will present “The Odd Couple,” by Neil Simon, as a staged reading at St. James Episcopal Church in central Waimea on Saturday, Sept. 14, in two performances at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Auditions for the reading for adult men and women are at 5 p.m., on Monday and Tuesday, September 2 and 3 in the group’s Lalamilo Farm Lots office and rehearsal space at 66-1250 Lalamilo Farm Rd., located above Tropical Dreams Ice Cream. The reading will require only a few rehearsals and offers a chance to participate in a live theatre performance without an extensive background and without a large investment of time. Prospective participants can contact the director, Elsbeth McKeen at 864-3399 for additional information or for alternative audition times.
WCT will also hold open auditions for its fall production, “Dark Night of the Moon,” at 6 p.m., Sept. 22 and 23 at the rehearsal space. WCT will present the play at Parker School Theatre on Friday and Saturday evenings, and Sunday afternoons from Nov. 8-17.
