Waimea Community Association Town Meeting is 5:15 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Waimea School cafeteria. All are invited. Queens Health Systems, corporate parent of the Queen’s Medical Center, recently entered into an agreement with North Hawaii Community Hospital to explore the possibility of a formal affiliation with NHCH.
Art Ushijima, CEO of Queens Health Systems, will speak at the meeting. He is also planning a series of community forums in North Hawaii. He also will be conducting “talk stories” with the Hamakua, 5-7 p.m., Nov. 12, at NHERC, and North Kohala, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, at Kohala High School cafeteria.
Coffee will be provided by Starbucks. Attendees are urged to support Waimea’s Food Pantry. Anyone with these extra food items who is unable to attend the WCA meeting is urged to deliver their donation to the Annunciation Church office during business hours. For more information, contact WCA President Sherman Warner at 885-1725, or Patti Cook at 937-2833. There will be no Town Meeting in December.
