Volunteer work days in Ulu la’au are 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturdays, April 5, 19 and May 3. All are invited to assist Waimea Outdoor Circle in “growing” their nature park, which is maintained solely by volunteers. Projects regularly include the greenhouse, weeding, mowing, edging, weed whacking, hauling chips and mulch – jobs appropriate for all ages. Tools, water and gloves provided, as is a light snack at 12 p.m. Community invited to enjoy the park during daylight hours at closes at 5:30 p.m.
Self-guided park booklets are available on the door of the greenhouse; booklets cost $3 to produce and donations requested to cover this cost or more. If you don’t wish to keep the booklet, please return it to its dispensing station.
