Tutu’s House will offer “Better Choices, Better Health,” a program developed by Stanford University to help adults take an active role in managing their physical, emotional and mental health conditions. The classes will be held at Tutu’s House in Waimea from 9-11:30 a.m., on Thursdays, Aug. 29; Sept. 5, 12, 19, 26 and Oct 3.
This important educational curriculum is designed to work with and enhance existing treatments, and is particularly helpful for ongoing health challenges or chronic disease.
One of the skills you’ll learn is how to make small changes to improve your general health, symptom management, and overall enjoyment of life. People who are living with or caring for someone with an ongoing health problem can also benefit from this workshop.
Through the series of six classes, participants gain self-confidence in their ability to control their symptoms and understand how their health conditions affect their lives.
The Better Choices, Better Health workshop is offered to adults of all ages as a service of the Hawaii County Office of Aging and Tutu’s House. There is no fee to attend this workshop, but advance registration is required.
