Maui artisan Mckenna Hallett, the owner of Currents low impact jewelry, will hold a trunk show at Elements from 10 to 6 p.m., on Saturday, April 20, Earth Day, in downtown Hawi. A well-established designer since 1992, Hallett has been supplying her “wearable found-object jewelry” for more than a decade.
Hallett uses no heat, solder, welding, or power tools when she creates her jewelry. She even converted a singer sewing machine treadle and uses it for all sanding and grinding.
For more information, visit Hallett’s website at STOPrecycling.com. There will be a special drawing for a $100 gift certificate for Elements. There will also be a special door prize donated by the artist from her private collection. There are other activities in the town, including the 7th Annual Trash Bash that evening.
