SHYLI students from Hawaii Island to attend Oahu leadership conference

The 2014 forum for Sustainable Hawaii Youth Leadership Initiative is Friday, April 4, at Windward Community College in Kaneohe on Oahu. Students from the Hawaii Island and Lanai will present their sustainability projects to a diverse audience of leaders from business, government and civic groups. Students and teachers from many Oahu schools will be present at the forum.

SHYLI, in partnership with Design Thinking Hawaii, will present the “Design Sustainable Hawaii Forum,” which offers a new strategy to build a green workforce. Special guests include Senator Jill Tokuda, Design Thinking Facilitators Justin Brown and Amanda Nelson of Kealakehe High School, and various coaches, teachers and teams from Waianae High School, Waipahu High School and Windward Community College.
