The Rotary Club of North Hawaii is offering vocational scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year. Vocational education refers to programs that teach students skills in specific areas of employment such as, but not limited to, fields of technology, health sciences, diversified agriculture, education, culinary arts, cosmetology and automotive repair. Applicants must be accepted into a community college or a certificate program at a vocational training center within the State of Hawaii. Exceptions to non-traditional vocational programs will be considered by the scholarship committee.
Applications are available through school counselors at the following high schools: Honokaa High School, Kanu o ka ‘Aina, Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Parker and Kohala High School as well as through the Rotary Club of North Hawaii.
In addition, for those students who are home schooled or those individuals with a high school diploma or GED and who meet the above criteria, you may receive an application by calling 775-1120.
