Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard announced the creation of the first-ever Congressional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Academic Competition. The “House STEM App Challenge” offers high school students in Hawaii and across the country an opportunity to compete in the creation of a software application—commonly referred to as an “app”—for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice.
The apps will be judged by an appointed panel of individuals within the academic, tech, and entrepreneurial fields. The winning student’s app in each participating congressional district will be featured on the U.S. House of Representatives website and on display at an exhibit in the U.S. Capitol.
Information is available at http://gabbard.house.gov/house-stem-app-challenge. The deadline to submit applications to Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard’s office is Wednesday, April 30, at 5:59 p.m. HST.
