Sixth Annual Fourth of July Party at the Waimea Town Market at Parker School community celebration is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, on the Parker School campus. Merriment for all is the order of the day as a variety of games and giveaways are served up in red, white, and blue style. United States flags (while they last) are the market’s gift to keiki. There’ll be an “egg” carry race at 9:30 a.m. and a sack race at 10:30 a.m.; face painting is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. A photographer’s delight, the popular watermelon-eating contest will be at 11:15 a.m. Prize ribbons will be awarded to contest winners. The event is free—bravery is optional. And don’t forget your camera.
