NHCH-Queen’s Health Systems merger update to top WCA meeting this Thursday

The Waimea Community Association town meeting is 5:15-7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, at Waimea School cafeteria. All are invited. Topics will include updates on the North Hawaii Community Hospital-Queen’s Health Systems merger, electric vehicles and smart grid technology, Hawaii County council news for Districts 1 and 9, and only Kupuna CrossFit Allstar program with special guest — Waimea kupuna Kameichi Yawada, who celebrated turning 100 by recently starring in full-length documentary and commercial about CrossFit strength training that was released during the CrossFit Games in July and aired on ESPN.

Other groups who will present are members of the CERT-sponsored Amateur Radio Technician Class Test Prep (for beginners); information on the South Kohala CDP Action Committee vacancies, an introduction on the Historic Spencer House News – “Waimea Alive! – Images Of Life on the Big Island” amateur photography contest, and and their co-working in Waimea, and information on the Waimea Middle School’s “We’re Going Places!” LAP Fun Run/Walk, 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 12.
