N. Kohala Libarary to offer three December programs

North Kohala Public Library will celebrate the holiday season with three Monday evening programs in December.

On Monday, Dec. 2, jewelry artist Sid Nakamoto will off two classes to learn how to create a simple holiday jewelry design — at 2 p.m. and at 6 p.m., both offering the same program. Materials and assistance will be provided for participants to create their own jewelry piece. Participants are limited.

A holiday music concert at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9, will feature five Kohala musicians playing recorders, guitars, and piano. Wendy Hindley, a flute and recorder instructor, coordinates the annual concert and will perform with her students, Adrienne Cherry, Diana Moriarity, and Karen Miller. The program will also include selections by David Gomes on guitar and Cherry on piano.

Children’s librarian, Leilani Silver will present a family fun night at 6:30 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 23. Children ages 4-9 and their families are invited to enjoy holiday stories, crafts, and refreshments.

Admission is free for the entire family. Call the library at 889-6655 for additional information or to request a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation.
