A variety of departments will sponsor a Kupuna Alert Partners presentation from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., on Aug. 13, at Waimea
Hawaiian Homes Hall, followed by a medication take back from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. KAP topics will include: medical identity theft and medicare fraud prevention, preventing prescription drug misuse, investor fraud prevention and burglary prevention tips.
The Department of Public Safety’s Narcotics Enforcement Division will conduct the half-hour prescription drug take-back operation immediately following the one-hour KAP presentation. Participants are encouraged to bring their unused or expired mediation for safe, anonymous disposal.
Sponsoring the event is Mayor Billy Kenoi, the Hawaii Police Department, Hawaii County Office of Aging, Hawaii County Mass Transit Agency in partnership with Department of Attorney General, Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division, Community and Crime Prevention Branch Department of Commerce and Consumer Affair, Office of the Securities Commissioner, Department of Health, Executive Office on Aging, Senior Medicare Patrol, and the Department of Public Safety, Narcotics Enforcement Division.
