The next meeting of the Hawaii Preparatory Academy Community Book Club is 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Dyer Memorial Library, Upper Campus. Community Book Club meetings are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served and participants are invited to bring a snack to share.
Lois Inman, Dyer Memorial librarian, and Jaime Johnson, upper school English teacher, will lead the group. The current book selection is The Burgess Boys by Elizabeth Strout, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and New York Times bestseller.
With brilliant storytelling, exquisite prose, and remarkable insight into character, Elizabeth Strout has brought to life two deeply human protagonists whose struggles and triumphs will resonate with readers. The next Community Book Club meeting is Thursday, April 17. The book selection for this discussion will be “The Worldʻs Strongest Librarian” by Josh Hanagarne.
