A health eating class called Healthy Breakfast Favorites is from 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, at the Waimea Community Center with Landry Fuller, a certified health coach, nutrition counselor and teacher.
Learn how to make traditional breakfast and brunch recipes using flavorful, healthy, nutrient-rich ingredients lower in fat and without refined sugar. Foods include a strawberry shortcake smoothie, pineapple coconut muffins, tempeh sausage patties, tofu scramble with leeks, mushrooms and goat cheese.
Fuller has given health talks at Tutu’s House, health workshops at HPA and is the health teacher at Waimea Elementary School. Class fee is $15, and registration for the class is required. Contact Parks and Recreation, Culture and Education Division, at 961-8706 to reserve space.
