Girl Scout Troop 780 will offer free Halloween costumes again this year for Waimea area children in need. The girls are asking families to donate costumes at one of the collections sites between Oct. 1 to 22. This year, the Girl Scouts have set a goal of collecting 100 costumes. To help, bring new or gently used costumes to Tutu’s House, Thelma Parker Library or Parker Lower School and place in the Costume Drive box provided. If possible, please put each costume in a large ziploc or other bag and label with size.
The free costume give away event is 3:30-5 p.m. , Thursday, Oct. 24, at Annunciation Catholic Church, Waimea. The goal is to make sure all children who want a costume can participate in dressing up and trick-or-treating activities. Last year, more than 80 costumes were given away. If you have questions you may call Robin Mullin, troop leader, at 936-7070.
