Russell Beatty will hold a Colt Starting Challenge, May 18 and 19, at the Anderson Arena in Waimea on the Big Island. Russell is also a participant in the Challenge. The event is just $15 to attend, and everyone is invited.

The Colt Starting Challenge is a competition for multiple contestants to gentle and tame horses in multiple round pens in front of an audience. Contestants then get on and ride the horse typically within only two hours. The method used to gentle the horses is called Natural Horsemanship.

Russell’s goal is to provide a forum for contestants to compete at the Colt Starting Challenges throughout Hawaii and the mainland. The participants in this Big Island Colt Starting Challenge will be Russell Beatty of Maui, Matt Zimmerman of Idaho, and Jackie Holder of The Big Island.

He is a Maui resident living in Hawaii. For more information, visit www.coltstartingchallengeusa.com, or visit Beatty’s Facebook page at Colt Starting Challenge USA.
