A “Reversing Diabetes with Food” class is from 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, at Hale Halawai. Class instructor is Landry Fuller, a certified health coach, nutrition counselor and teacher.
For anyone with type 2 diabetes, pre-diabetes or history in their family, this chronic disease may be reversed – by decreasing blood sugar, medication doses, and the risk of complications – by making healthier food choices.
Learn in this cooking class about foods to avoid and those to use that have lower glycemic indexes to make tasty dishes that will keep your blood sugar in check, such as spinach hummus, quinoa tabbouleh salad, lentil sweet potato soup and a berry Mousse
Class fee is $15, which includes recipes and food tasting. Registration is required. Please contact Parks and Recreation – Culture and Education Section at 961-8706 to reserve space.
