Waikoloa skate park to open on Sept. 29

<p>The long-awaited grand opening for the new Kamakoa Nui Skatepark in Waikoloa Village takes place Sunday, Sept. 29, from 12 to 4 p.m. Designed and built by California Skateparks’ Brian Sandlin, the park is located in the Kamakoa subdivision at the end of Iwikuamo’o Street. Admission is free and skaters are encouraged to bring their skateboards, helmets and pads and be among the first to try out the new skatepark, which incorporates features to challenge and entertain skaters at every level.
