The community is invited to join members and friends of Waimea Preservation Association for a talk story session from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18 at the Spencer House to help shape a serviceable and sustainable future for the historic building. According to Paul Johnston, a project volunteer, the business plan to preserve the remarkable resource as a community gathering place will start to take shape once they have gathered ideas from the community.

WPA volunteers are committed to a year-long exploratory effort to find ways to preserve this historic treasure and, as importantly, to serve the community. The project team is open to all ideas and suggestions and is actively seeking the community’s input, starting with an open meeting, a brainstorming session.

There is no charge to participate in this brainstorming session and everyone is invited. To contribute ideas, questions or support, contact Johnston at 938-4540 or email pej1000@aol.com, Bill Sanborn at 895-1122, or Lauren Avery at 371-2502, or email hawaiilauren@gmail.com.
