The Firehouse Gallery in the heart of Waimea presents a fine craft show, “Quilt & Fiber Exhibition,” with works by local artisans June 4-29. More than 30 traditional and contemporary, functional and decorative pieces will be displayed. Quilts, including patchwork and Hawaiian style appliqué, plus original designs with a contemporary style will be on display and available for sale. This year’s show will include woven works from members of the Hawaii Island Chapter of the Hawaii Handweavers Hui.

The Waimea Arts Council invites the public to their complimentary reception for this show at the Firehouse Gallery on Friday, June 6 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Waimea Arts Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the arts on the Hawaii Island. The Firehouse Gallery, located in the old Waimea Firehouse, 67-1202 Mamalahoa Highway, is the council’s most visible program. Volunteer docents host the gallery from 11 am to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
