Last Saturday, blue skies, great food and music, and a chance to catch up with old friends drew a large crowd for the second annual “Beer, Boots, Brats and Barbeque” at Kahua Ranch. The Kohala Hospital Charitable Foundation’s event raised more than $99,000 for the Kohala Hospital Emergency Room, which starts construction next week.

The silent auction attracted high bidders, the food and drink was outstanding and when the time came for the live auction everyone was ready and eager to place their bids with Jon Adams.

Food was donated by the Hilton Hotel, the Bitburger Brewery and Figs Mixed Plate, and was prepared by Chefs Peter Hager and Carter Chu and their staff as well as volunteers, including Lion’s Club members.
