Kaiser Permanente Hawaii physicians and staff members spent the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday volunteering at Mala’ai Culinary Garden at Waimea Middle School and also at Kealakehe Intermediate School. Kaiser Permanente employees, along with Hawaii Island School Garden Network and FoodCorps Hawaii, weeded, tilled and planted crops in the gardens, which are part of both school’s sustainability curriculums.

More than 900 Kaiser Permanente Hawaii physicians and staff members spent the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday volunteering their time working on community projects on Oahu, the Big Island and Maui in commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
