Waimea Athletics sponsored the 2nd Annual Waimea Sports Expo and Family Fun Day on Saturday, July 26, at the Waimea Park Complex. The free event showcased community sports and fitness programs in the community that “encourage health and wellness opportunities for youth, adults and families.” Visitors of all ages had an opportunity to participate in instructional clinics and try out different sports and activities. Featured sports included soccer, football, basketball, tennis, volleyball, and baseball. Five Mountain Fitness and CrossFit Allstar offered health and wellness demonstrations, and there were concessions, information booths, as well as a jumping castle and inflatable slide for keiki. For more information and a complete schedule of area athletic opportunities, visit the Waimea Athletics website at waimeaathletics.org.
