Pond Field Technician Cyanotech Corporation is a world leader in microalgae technology, producing BioAstin® and Hawaiian Spirulina Pacifica®. Responsible for maintaining basic aspects of Astaxanthin pond operation including, but not limited to pond growth, harvest, transfers, feeding and cleanliness as an essential part of the Astaxanthin cultivation lab and field functions. This is for a swing shift position: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Operates and maintains a variety of equipment in an aquaculture environment with high pressure systems, including pumps, FLOC tank, hoses, pressure washers, tractors, fork lifts, and filters. Collects samples, monitors pH and records pertinent data. This position requires the ability to work outdoors, with extensive walking on uneven ground, walking in slippery areas, climbing platform ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs. This is a highly physically demanding position. High school diploma or GED. One year of work experience required. Previous experience in a production facility is preferred. Valid Driver's License, in order to be certified on a forklift and other heavy equipment. Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and cooperatively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Possess mechanical abilities with good attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes in work assignments. Must be able to work variable shifts, including weekends. Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
